The "A.S.A.P"
To prevent life-threatening falls on icy slopes, the ASAP (Automatic Self-Arrest Pole) integrates a retractable, ice-axe-style pick into a ski pole handle allowing skiers to instantly transition from touring to a secure self-arrest position.

Mechanical Design
Engineered a spring-loaded mechanism requiring dual-button input, ensuring the pick only deploys when the user intentionally shifts into a self-arrest grip.
3D CAD Modeling
Developed high-fidelity models of parts and assemblies to validate mechanical clearances and optimize component geometry for manufacturing.


Form Ideation
Integrated rapid sketching and physical foam sculpting to explore, iterate, and refine the products profile and surface topology.
